Busy week

This is where we are heading next week for Spring Break. Before you get the wrong impression and think I have gone all granola over here, we are staying in very nice hotels. NO Camping! NO Hiking! Lots of photography and memories for the boys.
Unfortunately, J has figured out that we leave on Saturday. He has wanted to pack all weekend and took it upon himself to do it today. BTW- he is drugged on cold medicine.
Into his suitcase I found-
1 Nintendo DS
12 DS games
5 webkins
2 Nerf dart guns
assorted monster trucks
toothbrush and toothpaste( not going to bother for the rest of this week)
1 pair of jeans
2 pairs of silky track shorts
2 white undershirts
1 long sleeve fleece
1 pair of pajama's ( top and bottom don't match)
4 bathing suits

When he came into my room and let me know that he was all packed and ready to go, I questioned whether he had everything he needed.
J-"Of course, I am 6 now, you can trust me!"
Me- "Let's go see what you have packed. Where are you socks and underwear?"
J-"I will have socks and underwear on when we fly on the airplane right? you can just wash them every night at the Hotel."
Me- "Not so much. How about you wait and pack on Thursday night and Mommy will help you?"
J-" Whatever. I am done with my packing; my suitcase is full. Everything else will have to go in your bag."

Needless to say, I have a lot of laundry and packing to do this week. Four people to fly to AZ and two dogs off to Nana's. I also have 2000 clients to love, so that they look fabulous for their Spring Break and a huge Art Walk on Friday night. ( more on that tomorrow)

What???!?

I am sitting here reading blogs and an Ambien CR commercial comes on. I had to rewind the tivo to really hear what was said. I know about the warnings for "sleep eating, walking and sexing" but they have now added "swallowing your tongue"! I just wanted to warn you that its out there. You might swallow your tongue between bites of doughnuts, while walking back to have sex with your sleeping husband. Just a thought...

Happy Birthday!

Yesterday was J's 6th birthday! We were so busy that I didn't get to post for him. We started the day at 7:30 with batting practice for C's 9:ooam game. It was a heart breaker. They came back and ended up losing by 1 because of a wild throw. So devastating to a 12 year old.
We had about an hour before J's batting practice, so we opted to have a concession stand lunch rather than lose our parking spot. Those suckers are very hard to find!( We have 8 fields going all day, with 2 teams and 12 kids per team= not enough parking)

At the game, C climbed into the scorekeeper's booth and kept score for the t-ballers. This is a big treat because they usually don't keep score until playoffs. When the game was over, J's team was victorious by 1 run! Yeah!
J and his buddy decided that they wanted a turn and tried to help the next team out. As you can see the score is 64 to 84 in the first inning.

They were so cute sitting in the stand. Very intense and hard at work!
After ball we went home and cleaned up. Then we were off to J's favorite activity- BOWLING! We had a great time and J is a fantastic bowler(with bumpers). I don't think either of my kids would have stood a chance if they had ADD. The bowling alley had the black lights going, very loud music videos playing and then the crashing of the balls and pins. It was insane! J started complaining about being hot and coughing a little, but I thought it was a little ploy to get a Sprite. Not so much...
We were then off to a delicious dinner at Bahama Breeze. I love Mojitos! C, J and I split a yummy lobster and shrimp pasta. My boys have very grownup tastes; Chicken fingers and mac and cheese don't cut it anymore. After having had Mommy make cupcakes 3 times this week, J decided that he wanted Cold Stone Creamery ice cream for his birthday treat. He wanted a half gallon of mint ice cream mixed up with brownies all to himself. I have to admit it is quite yummy!
After finishing his ice cream( not the entire thing, just a small bowl), we had lots of coughing. I have a very sick little boy on my hands. At least it's today and didn't ruin his birthday. I hate to get sick and I could feel the sore throat coming on all day. I am going to self medicate and pray for the best for tomorrow!

5 things I love

The premise of this meme is to take pictures of 5 things in your house that you love or represent you. Avery Gray started it and Caffeine Court and Impoverished Preppy have tagged everyone to take a turn. I am going to share another little piece of myself-

#1- ART- we have a LOT of art in our house, I am married to Paint boy (were you wondering why I call him that?) The first is a picture that he painted for our anniversary last year. It is called "The Frog Pond", it is named after a breakfast place at the beach that my mother grew up near and we always vacationed. This one was done by C, I love the colors and vibrancy.
This is one that J did last summer and hangs in his room. We let the boys paint with oils on canvas when ever they visit Daddy's studio. They are very proud that they have created the art in our home.
#2- GARDENING- I love to be outside playing with my flowers. I plant flats and flats of flowers every year in addition to all the perennials that we have from over the years. I love every Spring to watch my plants bud and bloom. I have to admit that by July it is just too stinking hot to be outside, so I always start early.
#3- BAKING SUPPLIES- I love to bake! I have an addiction to sprinkles. They are so pretty and make everything better according to my kids. I try to make a treat every week for our family. I do not purchase cookies (except oreos and that's rare). I love to make pies and cakes and cobblers and cookies. It is one of the languages of love that my husband understands.
#4 BUBBLES and BOOKS- I love to take a bubble bath. I like really clean citrusy scents or honeysuckle florals.
They best part is when you are in a really warm bath with bubbles up to your nose, a great book and my head half submerged so that I can't hear my children. (Daddy's turn!) I love to read and I tend to read very fast. I don't skim,I can tell you everything that has happened, just fast forward it. I have been known to stay in the tub so long that I have to let out water and reheat it again.

#5 LUCY- This is my daughter Lucy. She is a miniature dachshund and miniature chihuahua mix, she is not a mutt but a Gourmet dog.Lucy weighs in at a whopping 7 lbs. She has the best disposition of any dog that we have ever met. She thinks she is human, hence sitting on the couch and sleeping in my bed with her head on the pillow. She has quite a collection of clothes that she wears all winter but since it has been so warm, she gets to be "naked". We all love this dog more than anything. Its good she is sweet because she is VERY spoiled.

Oooyyyyy! I can't believable.

This is the funniest thing! It is a man calling to order a computer from Dell and the salesman losing it on him, this is a real call. They have been playing it on the radio and referring to it every morning. This morning J had a hard time and I had to walk him into class. When I returned to the car C started taunting me, "Leettle giiirlll! Leetle poofy giiirl. Nana, na, na, na." Broke the ice and Mommy started laughing until I cried. Enjoy!

Way to go!

My J is a superstar! Last night at his T-Ball game he scooped up a ball in left field and threw it to first base. Right to the first baseman. That is a looong way people! Needless, to say he received the game ball. We are all very proud.

ETA- I know that his hat and jersey are different teams. He couldn't "find" his Phillies hat so he just wore a "red" one from some past season. It was hanging on the hook behind his door. where it belongs. Not in his baseball bag where he likes to leave it.

Sorry I haven't posted for the last few days. It is one of those things, the clients are driving me crazy, the kids are back talking, and Paintboy is just annoying.

1. You can NOT do your hair like I do, if you are not using the products I use. And don't tell me that your dollar store crap is just as good. So quit complaining to me. Buy the products and look fabulous or don't. Just quit bitching. BTW- its not cheaper at Ulta or the grocery store. The company sets the prices not us. Sometimes its even more. And with the price of gas just buy it from me and you will save $$$. I won't try to "sell" you shit you don't need.
2. Do not call me and tell me that their is something wrong with my online client booking software. We are a week and half before Spring Break. I am BOOKED, people. Nothing is broken, you are too late to get an appointment. I will see you in a few weeks. It is not an emergency.
3. Do not throw yourself on the floor every time I ask you to do something. Pouting never makes anything better and the whining has got to stop. I am actually waiting for you to knock yourself unconscious next time so that I can have some quiet around here.
4. Please stop rolling your eyes at me and mumbling when I ask you to do something around the house. You are 12 now and should be able to help. Next time it will be 2 weeks without the computer.
5. When all of this other stuff is going on please stop groping me in the kitchen. It doesn't make me happy. Yes, you are wonderful and I still enjoy you after all these years; but dude, you're getting on my last nerve right now. Passive- aggressive me is NOT giving it up.

Things that I love...

I love that I live in a state in which one day you can have an Easter Egg hunt in shorts and Polo's-
( Nephews B and C and my J and C; they had all changed immediately after returning home from church)

And the next day you have snow all day! (Nothing is sticking but it sure is fun to watch.)
I LOVE the Cinnamon Crunch Bagel from Panera Bread Co. Its a huge Bagel w/o a hole in the middle, loaded with cinnamon chips and cinnamon sugar on top. It is so yummy toasted with plain cream cheese. (It has a million calories and is as big as a toddler's head, but after spending the weekend with the IL's I deserve it and a lot more!)
I LOVE this new mascara from Cover Girl! I am all about cheap mascara, it's black goo and I am not paying a lot for it. I have used the same brand for 13 years and have tried many during that time. This is the first one that have made my heart flutter. Lash Blast has one of those funky, new rubber brushes that lengthens and adds volume. It works fabulously, no spider lashes here! (Wal- Mart has a special, 2 for $7.97)
I love all of you! I have had the best time reading all of your blogs and making new (albeit anonymous) friends in the blog world. Please leave comments and let me know what you think or that you stopped by, it makes it more fun to write when you know people are reading!

The cutest Bunny cookies

I volunteered to bring Bunny cookies to J's class for snack tomorrow. I also have snack for T'Ball on Saturday, so I thought I would kill 2 birds with one stone. I am an over achiever. I tend to take on too much and love every minute!
After going through my cookie cutter box, I decided on bunnies from behind. (Don't go there, I just picked the easiest one.) After working all day, this is how you become Super Mom of the Year. I am waiting on my award!

First make your favorite sugar cookie dough , roll to an 1/8". Cut and Bake cookies. To make your color flow icing- powdered sugar, meringue powder, gel color and water. (recipe in meringue powder container)
Mix to desired consistency- I like mine more runny than the recipe, so add extra water.
Dip cookies, wiping excess off on edge of the bowl. Let dry on wax paper. color will settle smooth (there is a run off on the tails, but 5 year olds are eating them and don't care)
Mix royal icing using meringue powder, powdered sugar and water. (recipe in meringue powder) Pipe a cottontail on bunnies bottom using a star tip.
How cute is this?!?? I love them
BTW- thanks for all the Birthday greeting to C, he keeps checking to see if he has gotten any more. You are all the best! I would send you bunny cookies if I knew your addresses. ;o)

Happy Birthday!

Are you people out there? I know that my mom has been writing about me and my brother. It seems that all she wants to do is type her stupid blogs and read yours. Today is my 12th Birthday, I want some attention (and an X-box 360). I want to see that y'all care about me- leave a comment and wish me a happy birthday. I will be checking!

This is a picture of me, please do not stalk me. I am just a kid.
Do you see those sticks behind my head? Yeah, she made my brother and me go out in the yard and pick them up to make a tree with bows and eggs on it. She saw it on a blog. Thanks.
Happy Birthday to me,
C

I almost forgot,

Thank heavens for Tivo!

Dancing with the Stars starts tonight. This could be one of my favorite shows to watch with my kids. They love to watch and vote for their favorites. This season I am more a fan of the dancers than the "celebrities". (Cheryl, Julianna, and Louis are fabulous.) I love the judges and all there "helpful" comments. I can not wait to see who has two left feet and can't dance a step.
Nothing beats watching J dance around the family room in his jammies, he is my true star!

Clemsongirl and the wedding

We all know about the upcoming wedding between Clemsongirl and her Wal-Mart boy toy. I wanted to share some pictures that I found of her man and his first wife. Unfortunatley, he is a Dawg fan so their won't be any orange in sight. Now remember that this is his first wife and Clemsongirl has some BIG shoes to fill!

We wish them the very best!

Showers, showers and more showers

We survived the storms last night. The first blew through about 8:30, it included a lot of hail. Fortunately, it was very fast moving and ended before bedtime. (That was the one that caused issues downtown at the SEC game.) I was very relieved that J slept through the over night storms. It was thundering and lightening all night. He would have been in our bed for sure!
Now for the other shower...
I am a professional Baby Shower Hostess! I have helped throw 5 showers in the last 13 months. That is a lot of showers. 3 of them I have hosted with one other girl. We have the menu down pat, we know what we serve with slight alteration for variety. Depending on whether its a girl or a boy, we will change the color (flavor) of the cocktail, the drizzle on the Oreo truffles, the flowers and ribbons. The other hostesses that join us help with variety, we let them pick what they make to spice things up. One of the showers we even had to take to the girl's house because she was on bed rest. We are that good- or crazy!
I am not a spring chicken with lots of young friends, these are ladies that have tried for years to get pregnant. There are a few that have an older child and there are many years between them. These ladies all needed to be celebrated! I decided for the first one that I would crochet her a baby blanket. (I know its a little "Home cookin'" of me. wink, wink.) Unfortunately, these women are all friends and saw the beautiful blanket. The next actually let me know that was she wanted - my blanket.
So it became a tradition.
Today I have the last shower (I am saying forever). I literally finished the blanket last night. I still have to wrap it. (I am sitting here blogging being "passive, aggressive") It turned out beautiful- blue and white pinstripes with a slightly ruffled hem. So sweet! I also made cheese straws and Oreo truffles. Everything is easy to make, just time consuming. So I am off to "shower" a friend with love and truffles!
Y'all stay dry!

multitasking

I want to know how many of you can read the blogs and still pay attention to your husband's conversations? I am very adept at multitasking.
My husband came home and decided to give me a play by play of C's game tonight. I was able to get through 3 blogs before he asked me if I was listening. Of course, every play inning by inning.

Let's go for 2...

J slept through the night!

I did not drug him for those of you perfect mommies out there.

Stinkin' Kindergarten

Last week at J's school they were having Community Helpers week. They had parents visit class and talk about their jobs.

Fireman day- "Mom, NEXT time you are on fire, remember to STOP,DROP and ROLL!"

Police day- "Mom, did you know that you should lock doors? That way bad men can't get in your house."

Doctor day- "Mom, did you know that there are germs that can eat you up? Like your skin and everything!"

Dentist day- "Mom, if I don't brush my teeth they can get holes in them and fall out. XXXXX must not brush his teeth 'cause his front ones are gone!"

Needless to say, this TOO much info for a 6 year old. We haven't slept through the night in a week. Last night J awoke to a noise of "someone coming in his window", at 3:40 am. He did not go back to sleep. AT ALL!
Tonight we have encouraged him to go to his brother's room if he wakes up. C didn't think this was too funny. I am making a palate on the floor just in case. I can't spend another night as a Hair girl sandwich.

I have got to have some sleep up in here!

Happy Days

Today is my anniversary!
My sweet Paint Boy sent me flowers. I in turn put "some" Blond Highlights back into my hair. (Nice gift, huh?)
I have always been blond and had a new year crisis and decided to dye it dark. Not Paintboy's favorite look. So for him, I have a few highlights. He is a Happy Paint Boy...

Warning...

I had 3 clients send me this...

Police: Pa. Stylist Shoots Angry Client

Pa. Hairstylist Accused of Shooting Client Who Was Angry Over Cut

The Associated Press

WASHINGTON, Pa.

A hairstylist shot an unhappy client after she complained about her haircut, police said.

Lauren Newton, 28, was getting her hair cut Thursday at the home of Monique Reed when the two began to argue about the style, police said.

"She (Reed) went to the bedroom, got a gun, fired a shot in the ceiling," Police Chief James Blyth said. Newton, who was trying to flee with her sister, was then shot in the lower back, he said.

Reed, 38, was charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. She remained in jail in this southwestern Pennsylvania town in lieu of $50,000 bond.

Newton's injuries were not considered life threatening. She was taken to a hospital in nearby Pittsburgh for treatment.

The district magistrate's office said Reed had not listed an attorney as of late Thursday.

The moral of this story- Never disagree with a hairdresser named Monique in her house. I bet she did the head swishing thing. No you di'un!

Should I hire him?

In honor of all the cleaning over at Ashley's Closet, I thought I would share how salons keep clean!

Sunshine and rainbows

It is SOOOO cold outside today! It rained all day yesterday and its below 50 degrees, so NO baseball! Yeah! I know that we will have to make it up, but maybe it will be warmer.

BTW, "Operation- Spank one get one free" has worked beautifully. Everyone is in a great mood and we have had no fighting. The boys have cleaned their rooms and are now have computer time. (thank heavens for laptops and wireless )

I am so excited! I am going out tonight with a group of friends for 2 girl's birthdays. We are going to be going to a fabulous restaurant, that I have wanted to try. These girls are so much fun, we will be laughing and dancing all night. Now to figure out what to wear...

Troll

Yeah... Um, okay. I have had my first trollish comment.
I will now not allow anonymous comments. If you have something to say to me or about how I raise my kids, be a big girl and leave your name.
Thanks,
Hair girl

Spank one, get one Free

First off, its my blog. I can write what I want and raise my children how I want. I went through labor and not you, so just hush.
BTW, my parenting philosophy is that you need to spank your children every day until they are 3. After that they know it will happen and you don't have to spank that often. They know...

J is usually in a mood come Fridays. He is tired and we know it. C was unusually cranky today also. Not a good mixture.

I was cooking dinner, baking a coconut cake and trying to help J with a word find puzzle. It was not going well. When dinner was ready, C set the table and got drinks, J is supposed to get the silverware. Tonight he was not going to do it. He stomped, he huffed, he "Oh my Gosh'd". He finally got the silverware.
We were all eating and he was pouting.
Me- J, please eat your dinner. You like shrimp.
J- I don't like this kind of bread you put on them. *Sigh*
Me- Well, eat your green beans and potatoes.
J- No, I don't like the way they look. (twiced baked potatoes, he doesn't like the *stuff* in them)
Paintboy- J, just eat and hush
J- NO!
Paintboy- you can eat or go to bed.
J - yeah, right... (remember he is 6)
Paintboy- Do you want a spanking?
J- Phfff ( laughing, then realizes what he has done, now he is crying)
Paintboy - Upstairs, NOW!

Needless to say, C decided that he would drop his attitude when the possibility of a spanking was so close. We should have at least 3-4 good weeks after this night.

Nintendo DS and spoiled children

Over at AFRo she was discussing nagging by her son. His request was a Nintendo DS- Here is my comment on how to deal.

If you take your Gameboy to a Gamestop store, they will trade it on a new DS. You get a $40 credit and then "only" have to pay the other $90. We let C do this last summer. He had straight A's 2 report cards in a row. He pulled this off to bribe his grandparents into big $ payouts. I always buy them a used game (about$20) for an excellent report card so he had $77,I chipped in my $20 and he was set. He forgot about tax and was a little pissed.

The good thing about the DS is that the Gameboy games work in it too. You don't have to buy all new games. My kids play all their old ones and have maybe 5 DS games total. (thanks to aunts and uncles)
Good Luck , I know its hard.

I then proceeded to go to J's T-ball game, where I met up with Paintboy, Nana and C. I posted this when I finally got home.
I have an update- C left his damn DS at the ballpark tonight! I mean on the bleachers and we were finished with our game and the next group came to play and we left the park and he didn't realize it for 2HOURS! I took him back to check , just to make a point. No way was the pocket size game going to be there...
I live in a VERY honest town! The stinkin' DS was in the concession stand "lost and found". Someone turned it in. I guess every child already owned one and didn't want a spare. ;o)

That's a thought for you- start trolling the baseball parks for bored siblings and you might be able to snag one from a very spoiled child that doesn't notice that its gone for over 2 hours.

There is more to the story that I wanted to share. When we got home the first time ( after stopping for dinner at Panera), C asked me where his DS was, I didn't have a clue. He very patiently called Nana and asked her what "she had done with it?" " Oh baby, I didn't see it tonight," was her ever so Nana-like reply.
C then decided he would call his Dad. Paintboy, when asked stated "That it wasn't his DS and not his responsibility!" and hung up.( Paintboy has very little patience for misplaced items)
That was when we loaded up into the car, J was fresh from the shower and in Jammies. Back to the ballpark we went.
I am telling this child that "he is going to have to come up with $140 this time because he doesn't have a trade in."
" I am not going to contribute a dime, you are going to have to use all of your birthday money."
" There is no way that its still going to be there."
GUILT TRIP!

We pull into the lot and who is standing there - Nana.
She was so worried that Mean Mommy was not going to bring him back, that she was going to check. She is GOOD, people. I learned my guilt tripping from the BEST. I felt bad for making him feel bad. WTH?
When C went to check the "lost and found" they asked him to decribe his DS (what, there are that many left every night?) He said, "Its black." sniff...
"And??"
"It has a black NERF cover." sniff, sniff,
"And?"
"It has a Mario Cart game in it." tears starting...
"
What's the serial number?"
" I don't know, my mom won't let me take the cover off..." tears for real...

They were just giving him a hard time, but the kid was stressed.

When we got home he marched into the kitchen and wrote is name in silver sharpie across that DS!

He is one lucky fellow. We are hardcore parents and would not buy him another. He knows it, too.

Paint boy loves me

Paint Boy brought me a treat tonight- Mocha Moolatte from Dairy queen. its a cross between a milkshake and coffee- pure heaven.
He said he was bribing me to "Just say NO."
No Bribe needed.

And the winner is...

CHRISTIAN!

He is so fierce for a 21 year old kid. The boy has got talent!

This is gooood, I don't make this shit up. I just pass the truth along

As my title suggests, I am going to give up the goods on some of my clients. I will not use names and I will never tell them that I have a blog. There are stories that fill my ears that must be shared, just not in my small town/big city.

I have been doing hair for years and years. I thought I had heard it all- today I learned that crazy is still out there.

Client was telling me about her first marriage, as she was standing in front of the church with her dad, he leaned over and said "Honey, I love you. Take the money and run, very far, very fast." She thought he was kidding to break the ice. Not so much.
After having moved 1/2 way across the country for new hubby's job and working for a few months, she started Marriage counseling. Not a good sign after 3 months of marriage. To "help out" his entire family moved across the country to be near them. This only made things more difficult. He wanted her to stay home and be at his beck and call, and to start a family. She loved working not ready to have babies yet. They had serious control issues. He decided that there had to be fertility issues because she didn't conceive right away so they went for testing. Come to find out he was sterile- Not good news. She was fine with adopting, he was not.
They continued counseling, things kept going down hill and his mother was in the middle the whole time.
Well, Client comes home one day to a "family meeting". There in her living room sat he husband, his parents and his younger brother. They had decided that the family name must carry on and with it the family genes. Her husband didn't really want to spend the money on invitro. He and his family decided that she and baby brother would "make a baby".
Together.
The old fashioned way.
With her husband's brother.
Momma decided all this for her boys.

My client, walked out of the room, packed her bags and left.

When she got home to her parents half way across the country, her Dad said "I told you not to do it. That family was crazy. You should have taken my offer of the Money!"

She ran into her ex-husband a few years ago in their hometown. He had his family with him- wife #2 and 2 boys, that looked "just like Daddy". I guess wife #2 didn't have any objections to baby brother and "the plan"!

I went to work today...

it didn't go so well. I think my right fallopian tube wants to escape my body.

Today was Early Release day for the schools- for those of you not in the know, it means that EVERY momma wants her sweet baby's hair cut! I saw kids ALL day long, with a spastic fallopian tube. ( I am enjoying writing "fallopian tube", can you tell?) Not a fun day.

Paint Boy, C and J wanted dinner when I got home tonight. The nerve of them. Did I mention that my fallopian tube is not happy and that means I haven't cooked since last Thursday? (you have to know how to work it) Paintboy decided that I needed some comfort food- Gabriel's! If you haven't had their cream corn with a corn muffin crumbled in it, fried okra and green beans;RUN don't walk. BTW they have the best cakes in town. I wasn't in a sweets mood, so just dinner tonight. YUMMY!!!!

ETA- Lawyer's wife, I am not talking about you. I think we should have the kids and the Lawyer come one at a time, once a week. That way I can have a guaranteed fix every week for the month. You know the plant needs to be watered and Babycakes deems it "tersty".

My new plan

Over at Ashley's Closet, she has created here new life plan to keep herself clean and organized. I can't do things every day, because of the clients that just "have to have their hair done." Don't they understand I have shopping and blogging to do? I digress...
I have decided that I am going to call the Lawyer's Wife every Monday morning. This morning just while chatting on the phone I swept my downstairs and dusted everything. I mean I had the Pledge Clean and Dust spray and the Swiffer duster and CLEANED! I didn't even feel that bad about doing it, because that Lawyer's Wife is funny. No matter how bad we might feel she can make me laugh. So girl friend get ready for our Monday therapy session. If you flake on me my house is going to be dirty and its all Consuelo's fault, Maria isn't taking the fall on this one.

Damn that Clemsongirl!

I knew that I needed to get out today and do some errands, but I really wasn't planning on any major retail therapy. Just the bank, drycleaner, etc. Light errands!
I have had my butt on the couch for 3 days and I need to work up some stamina to go back to work tomorrow. (there is nothing like standing on your feet for 12 hours to piss a tired girl off)
So last night watching TV, I saw the commercial for Payless and there BOGO sale ends today. Of course I flashed back to Clemsongirl's Blog and those stinkin' patent leather green shoes.
Let me tell you, I would sell a child for patent leather in every color. I started my obsession at a young age, my mother thought that "red shiny shoes" were the best thing going. Every picture of me, until I had a say, appeared with "shiny shoes" on my feet.
Needless to say, I went shopping.

These are much greener in person!
Super comfy and light weight

Light Khaki in person with dark brown trim, Love the flattened toe!

Of course I purchased the Green patent leather ones too. At a BOGO sale you must purchase in even numbers!

Relaxing (with drugs)

I am so not happy! I am still on the couch and I watched a marathon of "Whose Wedding is it Anyway"
There is nothing like a stressed out bride to make you feel better about your situation.
My right fallopian tube is still not happy with me and no amount of drugs will make it stop throbbing.

I laid on the couch all day yesterday dozing on and off, while catching up on all things TiVo'd. I can say that I truly enjoyed being pampered by PaintBoy. He had quite the day-
8:30am- off to baseball with C (he's the coach)
11:20am- home with some lunch, Chic-Fil-A
11:45am -back to baseball with J, made C tag along with the guilt trip story of how J was at C's t-ball games at 10 days old
2:00- home again with Nana in tow
2:30- all is quiet, Nana has taken boys for a spend the night "so Mom can rest"

Paint Boy loves Baseball. He loves to coach the boys when they are big enough to understand the rules of the game. For this reason, he doesn't start coaching until its "kid pitch". J is still in T-ball and PaintBoy refuses to coach. He was reminded why at the game on Saturday. Not 1, but 2 kids ran to 3rd base instead of 1st! Its painful for him, I just laugh.
I am hoping to wake up feeling better tomorrow or this family is going to be naked this week. Laundry doesn't do itself! I need to get some magic Elves...

The best of Friends

I had a procedure attempted yesterday that would make would make me relax every month, not worrying about slip ups.
You read that right,"attempted!" After having my BF pick me up (with her month old baby) and drive me to the doctor's office, my body decided it wasn't going along with what the doctor wanted. Many drugs, much pain, a a couple hours later, ACE drove me back home. I slept most of the day. My sweetest friends, the Lawyer's Wife and June Cleaver showed up with dinner and flowers. Everything was extra yummy! Did I mention that they brought the most decadent brownies EVER? I am not sure which girl made them; however, I will hold a youngest child hostage until I receive the recipe. The reason I will always choose one of their youngest is that they are the sweetest, sassiest girls on the planet. Almost makes me wish for one of my own! ALMOST!

I am a strong friend, I don't ask for help, I give help. I love all of my friends, but these are the 3 girls that don't let my wall of defense get in the way. They are the girls that say "I will drive you"," It's no trouble", "Let me bring dinner", "How can I help?".

I have lived many places over the years, but my small town that is really a big city, is the best.
